The East Coast Bays Community Project Incorporated is a community-based-not-for-profit organisation which has charitable status. Registration number CC21150- The organisation began in 1989 as a group of people in East Coast Bays who wanted to see a Community House established in their community. In 1991, a community worker was employed to assist with this initiative and the society was incorporated in 1992.
The Bays Community Centre was opened in May 1992 and for six years the Project also ran a Youth Centre.  Today the Project operates alongside the Bays Community Centre and together provides a wide range of community events, activities and facility hire.  The Bays Community Centre launched its new brand name 'Heart of the Bays' on 1 September 2020. 

The mission of  the organisation is to provide opportunities for connections and enabling our diverse community to thrive.
With great staff and  motivated Governance we can provide accessible support and resources for a healthy, inclusive community.
​The needs and aspirations of East Coast Bays residents regardless of ethnicity, gender, religion and age, will form the foundation for us to provide opportunities to enhance their lives and encourage community involvement. 

The East Coast Bays Community Project  is looking for committed people who are passionate about their community who would like to become members of the Committee.
ECBCP is governed by a volunteers and we are seeking committee members
The role of the Committee is to determine direction and policies for the ECBCP.
The organisation began in 1989 as a group of people in East Coast Bays who wanted to see a Community House established in their community
The mission of  the organisation is to provide support and resources to enhance wellbeing in our community.
Time commitment required varies according to your skills, experience and available time.
All committee members are required to attend and contribute to the committee meetings, held approximately every 4 weeks.
